What are International Cordsets?

International cordsets meet non-North American requirements for plug styles, voltages, and frequencies. They consist of flexible power cords with molded connectors. Like other cordsets, these devices provide temporary electrical connections and have a male connector at one end a female connector at the other end.

The male end of an international cordset is a molded electrical plug with pins or prongs that attach to an electrical outlet or socket. The female end is a molded electrical receptacle into which these pins or prongs are inserted. An international cordset is easy-to-connect, and may include features such as fuses or EMI shields.
